it has been a long time since we left hgp (3 years? :O)

haha, the only time I meet 6.1 people (unintentionally) is when I'm on the way home from school. Like jolene and joyee on the bus, chloe at mrt station, yu kei and regina on mrt, and lcm at bus interchange. ohhh oh and recently siu ming at a geog convention.

Anyway, I was reading my P6 journal this afternoon. Not the journal we had to submit to ms wang, so obviously it had a lot more ranting and nasty words :/ But it certainly did bring back memories, for example I got drenched before english PSLE oral and how I was so worried I'll get scolded by ms wang for something which seems so trivial now. (not gonna reveal anymore ._.)

Firstly and obviously, this blog is dead. Where have all of you been! Okay maybe I haven't been coming here really often these days/weeks/months (whoops) too. At least I bothered to login to blogger, which is so troublesome btw. Don't you think so?

Yes anyway what are your subject combinations? I'm taking trip sci geog. Not sure if I made a mistake because I heard that quite a handful of people failed physics overall. And the last time I did physics was 1.5 years ago! I only know Chloe's taking bio chem lit and uh something. Yea, if you read this post, tag on the tagboard your subject combi. Hahahaha, so that the tagboard won't be dead and I know that people are still visiting this blog!

So uh, do you want a class gathering? NO MOVIES please. It defeats the purpose of having a gathering cos you can't really talk to each other. We should just meet up somewhere and play games. "Bonding session" hahah. If you have any ideas, tag on the tagboard too! Then we can quickly settle on a date when most people can make it. MS WANG MUST COME. Ms Wang + gathering = likely to have more people = everyone happy. =)

P.P.S. Uh, no offence to Catholic High guys whatsoever. We were at the YOG building a couple of weeks ago on some kinda Olympic learning journey with some Catholic High guys and some Philippine guys here on some cultural exchange thingy with their school (my school was in the news recently coz those Philippine guys visited my school!). So anyway when we were about to leave, the Catholic High guys yelled a cheer at us and then the three schools started some cheer competition thingy.

So when we did our somewhat signature cheer in Chinese, they did one too and we found out that Catholic High in Chinese is gong1 jiao4.

Then everyone was like, that sounds wrong!

Heh, my exams are over. I had math, geog and eng compre (MEG!)

math was okay, just that I suddenly forgot how to expand/factorise, and I spent don't know how long staring at the first qs when i realised it was that simple -.- I find mathematical concepts very pointless, who cares about constancy and relationship :/

Geog was okay, except that the mcp graphs was super hard to read. Ohoh, I didn't have enough time to write my third point for the essay!

English was okay too, but the summary was like "WHY DO I HAVE SO LITTLE POINTS!"

Okay, I was crazy enough to have supplementary lesson with my current class on the day of celebration.
I think I didn't get to see some of the 6.1 07 kids who came back early.
I met Ee-Ian, Terence, Jasper, Rita, MinXin, Weiling, Chloe and Lee Ying. Oh, Alvin came up to my class to say hi. I even introduced him to my 6 Diligence.
I chatted with Terence, Jasper and Ee-Ian. Afterwhich, Ian and Chloe decided to go Macs at Hougang Point and I tagged along as I needed to get stuff there. Weiling, Rita and Minxin followed us. Hui En joined us too.
I am happy to see all of them again. Frankly speaking, I can remember many things about each of them.
Ian has matured so much. It was fun chatting with him as he had no qualms telling me things and answering my probing questions.
Jasper was as candid as he could be. He was quite funny when we chatted about some thing regarding tomboys.
Terence still has the habit of thinking twice before he speaks.
Minxin and Rita would only smile at me. However, nowadays, they will answer my questions. In the past, they would just smile.
Weiling is as chatty as before. Chloe and Lee Ying are just as they are. These two girls are fun-loving yet contained. :)
Hui En has become really pretty. Well, not that she wasn't but now she is really a fine lady. :)
Anyway, the greatest impact of the day seeing them came when I said to them, "See you next year..." I wasn't too certain that they would come back again after reaching the age of 15. Ian asked me why next year. Ya, why next year? Hence, the first thought was the P6 Kayaking Expedition. However, Ian highlighted that there would be Teachers' Day. Weiling nodded in agreement.
Well, I suddenly realised that I had forgotten that I was once the teacher of these maturing teenagers. They reminded me again that we were there at Macs chatting because I was once their teacher. How peculiar...
Thank you for remembering me and visiting me because I was once your teacher. Touched. :)

I'm done with Geog, EL, Lit and Math finals!!! Only History, Science and HCL to go!!! WHOO!!!
I have my History final tomorrow. I'm quite nervous. But I have faith in my memory and my brain.

Lantern Nite

Yesterday, HGP celebrated lantern night... Strangely, 5 days after the actual day.
Anyway, a few of 6.1 boys came back.
Ee-Ian, Jingheng, Huijun and Ah Zhong...
Avel was there too.
Chatted with Ee-Ian, Avel and Jingheng. Ah Zhong and Huijun were too shy to even talk with me. What's wrong with chatting with an old woman who was their former teacher? Hahaha!
I was telling Ee-Ian how CMI he was when he started 5.1 days. I am so glad he has matured and learnt good social skills. He is now an athlete doing pole vault. My goodness, it is kind of beyond my imagination.
Avel has slimmed down a lot. I wonder what the real motivation is.
JH is as usual... Still very much the same except that he is less grumpy.
Huijun didn't change much.
Ah Zhong, ah... This Yaozhong must have taken some growth hormones. How did he shoot up so fast? He is much taller than me now.
These boys played soccer with tennis ball with my 5.7 kids. My goodness, bully ah...
Anyway, it felt kind of weird seeing my ex-students playing that tiny tennis ball with my current students. It was just a year ago that these big sized boys (smaller then) played in the same parade square as a class. Now, they were playing with my current students the same game at the same venue. I saw tiny kids running after big kids. Hahaha!
My class boy, Song Yuan, wanted to know Ee-Ian's MSN. Wah, Ee-Ian is now his new idol? Not too bad.
I only saw Yu Kei. I see Yu Kei every now and then in HGP, it doesn't feel that she has ever left the school. I didn't see any other girls. I heard that Jaslin was around. However, I didn't get to see her.
By the way, 6.1 boys, I expect you to be good role models for my current class kids, okay?

Hello everyone.

I feel relieved after finishing my Geography final yesterday. I think I might have failed freaking topo map. But whatever. Anyway, all the best for finals people! Hopefully I won't flunk anything. Haha.

And when 'Breaking Dawn' was out nearly every girl that walked by in my school had one. WHAT IS EVERYONE'S OBSESSION WITH THE TWILIGHT SERIES?! Might I remind that Edward is fictional, yet some of my classmates and even some seniors are in love with him. I mean no offence to 'Twilight' lovers, but it gets a little annoying to see them fawn over him. Our EL teacher occasionally makes 'Twilight' references, and even let us watch the trailer in class. The movie looks okay. The actors/actresses are okay.

Plus we had Physics revision today and I forgot close to everything I learnt coz' my mind is packed with Chemistry facts that I worked so hard to memorise for last Friday's test. To me, Physics is like a hybrid between Math and Science with headache-inducing confusion/difficulty thrown in.

First of all, I must confess that I haven't looked at almost all the presents. However, I have received your thoughts.

Secondly, I apologise for not being able to spend a little more time with you teenagers. I had to practise oral components with my current kids.

Yao Zhong has grown much much taller. He is better looking now. Hahaha! Jasper and Avel are slimmer. The girls are more or less the same. Hey boys, all of you better come back more often. If not, a few years down the road, I might not recognise you.

Huang Jingheng, the boy who created history in HGP. He rewrote history by breaking the "top student in prelim exam never the the top student for PSLE" curse. He broke the 268 top score that was standing strong for 7 years. In fact, Rico, Isaac and Kah Min broke that score too.

I wanted him to point to his name. However, as usual, the love to act cool boy refused to budge. Hahaha!

I think you kids are the most united. I didn't see any other classes coming in full strength like that. Well done!

oh, 5 nations is starting this coming sunday.
got this MP vs media match on the opening, which is on 30/8.
it lasts all week and ends on 6/9, which is the finals, on saturday.
season ticket is i think, 20$ and theres ticket for normal and finals day, but i forgot the price. =.=
oh, students get 50% discount for the ticket, so we only have to pay 10$.
im going for 30/8 and 6/9 with rafflesnetball, maybe you people may want to go,

I'm back again.

I had a Math common test today. It was pretty easy, as Math goes. One thing: Remember that video Miss Wang played us last year to teach us the formulas to find the circumference and area of circles? Well, the formulas are stuck in my head thanks to that. It's a good thing, coz I was tested on area and perimeter of simple geometrical shapes today. Haha. I cannot get those formulas out of my head.

To find the area of a parallelogram: breadth x height.
To find the area of a trapezium: 0.5 x height x sum of parallel sides.

It's a good thing it's stuck in my head. Haha.

And today I saw this freaking huge wasp buzzing around the light at the lift lobby at my storey this morning. It was like freaking enormous, like I don't know, 9cm HUGE. Ew. Yuck. Gross.

Last Sunday, my grandmother was throwing a dinner at a restaurant to celebrate her birthday. Of course my cousins were invited. So when my cousin Jaryll came(he's 13 and in VS, same class as Ee-Ian), he started talking about Ee-Ian and how they went out to Parkway Parade on some Thursday I was like, "You keep talking about him, are you in a gay relationship with him or something?" And my cousin was like "NO." But since he talks about Ee-Ian so much something must be up. Hmmmmmmmmm... So anyway my cousin is taller than me. AARGH. I want to be 168cm.

Today we had music lessons again and we had to work on our individual/group projects which we would be graded on in term four. My friend had the guitar scores/chords/whatever for Secondhand Serenade's 'Fall For You', and it didn't sound half bad. Unfortunately, it can't be used as the graded piece. The graded piece has to be like a Christian song from a song sheet. (Sigh) 'Fall For You' would be like way more interesting.

Today we had to sign mark sheets, which individually tell us how much we scored overall for each subject and I was SHOCKED to find out that I had pulled my Chinese UP from a B4 the last two terms to an A2. I've been averaging Bs this term, not good. Sickening tests and projects. Can't be helped.

Hi.

Today is a Wednesday which means that my class gets guitar lessons. We have music every week but singing/theory on odd weeks, guitar on even weeks. Each lesson is two periods, or one hour. One period was taken out of our guitar lesson two weeks ago by our Math teacher because we had a Math test to take. So we had one and a half hours of guitar today. It's quite fun but I have absolutely no idea how to change chords so fast. I'm not very musically inclined.

BTW last week my music teacher, who was wearing heels, STEPPED ON MY FOOT. OF COURSE IT HURT. It was an accident. But I wasn't too happy about it. I'm lucky my wound didn't start bleeding.

today was a bad bad bad day.
we had lit paper, geog paper and sihan.
They were okay lah. It ended around 1.
But my class had class DC after it for 1h we didn't keep our class clean.
(our class is actually quite clean compared to others)
So, 1st half an hr was mainly cleaning.
the other half was for writing reflection. 300 words. (like one full essay)
the reflection was like: Why is it important to keep a class clean? Who is responsible?
nearly everyone wrote conducive environment, including me.
Our teacher is strict and picky about cleanliness. but ya, it's for the greater good.
If our standard of cleanliness were to drop again,
our DC is doubled.
which means, 2hrs of DC and 600 words for reflection. D:

On Tuesday, I saw some of my 6.1 07 gals running along the corridor of the third level. I thought I saw Siu Ming and Yu Kei... Mind you, I was teaching in my class at the second level. Obviously, they have grown to be more prominent. LOL!
After school, I saw my umbrella back at my seat. One thing for sure, Yu Kei was back that day.
Anyway, Tuesday was a bad day due to an incident...
It was such a bad day after that or so I thought.
As I was heading to the ground level, I walked past the tables outside the Resource Room. Suddenly, someone waved at me. I looked down (the tables were rather low) and saw Kah Min. She smiled. It was so delightful to see a sweet smile on a really bad day. As I was telling her that she blended in well with our kids, I saw another familiar face. She was grinning away, obviously pretty amused that I didn't see her too. My sweet sweet Jolene...
Perhaps all of you will never know or understand the joy you bring just by flashing your smile.
As the humdrum process of marking brings me down, your surprise appearance brings a little excitement.
Do come back. Wave and smile at me. I may not have time to chit chat with you for long, we may not have so much in common but come back and bring some joy to my current life...

PS: My class is a good class. They are teachable, cute, lively and funny. However, I have two kids whom I can't seem to move. I feel tired trying to move them with the rest of the class. However, I am far from giving up on them.

If I tell you what I have done for my current class, you will be jealous. LOL! Student of the Month is changed to Student of the Month (Girl) and (Boy). I bought them the electrical kits the I & E club is selling. They get to bring home all the games we had. They even have science kits that they can bring home too.

This is Siu Ming. I'm in St. Nicks and in ELDDS, which stands for English literary, drama and debate society. And yes, I'm hoping to get into debate. My school has zero exams for Sec 1 but there are like so many tests and projects so the grass is not greener at St. Nicks! But we get earlier holidays in term 4. Yay! Ok, that day I saw Hui En and Regina.
I took pictures of them coaching the weaker pupils in P6.
Well, I will post them here when I have the energy.
I heard that JH would be running at the Nationals for 4 x 100 m. Not too bad for a shot putter becoming a sprinter.
Someone used to tell me that JH gave up on running after losing once when he was younger.
I guess when one becomes more mature with age or experience, he or she becomes more accustomed to failures. When JH was the top student for Prelims, I was rather worried that he would repeat Hgp history and not make it to the top during PSLE. I wasn't afraid of his aggregate score being low. I was afraid that he couldn't take the setback.
I could still remember how Zacky had headache the day he knew he failed to clinch his top position in P5. Well, Zacky got used to not always being the best of the best. He started smiling even when he got second. I loved his wide smile the day when it was announced that he got 271 for PSLE. He was the only one, among all 5 who stood up, beaming away like a bright bulb.
Jas was in a state of shock, she smiled a little. KM was totally stunned and didn't know where to put herself. Ric was forcing himself to smile. JH was totally confused. He didn't know whether he should believe Mr Law who congratulated him or believe the naughty teacher here who questioned him if he did his best.
Basically, things came and went. Memories stay.
It was a memorable day for most of 6.1 because for once they were reprimanded for not going back to their two lines after receiving their results. Who would anyway with all the excitement?

upon the request of the chairman of gasper club, im posting! :D

it seems like the class blog is really really dead, so i'll do a quick post!

now's 7.51 in the evening!

hmm, but i have no idea what to say..

er, mine's netball. =.=

bola jaring, which is netball in malay! :D

i think sec sch ccas are super super fun, cos everyone has to have one cca at least and commit themselves to it, so all the ccas are v enthu.

and my sch has alot alot ALOT of ccas. 52 in all!

so there's no such thing as nothing's interesting anymore. :D

we even have a cca in charge of the sch mag! XD

o.0 jasper's in "infocomm".

and i have no idea what that is. =.=

he said it's like, use computer programs and create games and website.

that's very interesting! :D

now i think that's what my sch doesn't have! LOL.

Mine's quite slack, except that there's test and PTs every other week. =.=

The problem with class blog is the lack of life. Hence, the form teacher, being a dumb leader of the class, will blog more to keep it going.

Today, I saw Ben. He has become taller. Most probably in a few months' time he would tower over this dumb leader. Ben was back to coach some P6s Mathematics.

Well, I am very proud of my 6.1 07 pupils. Many of them have come back to coach other kids.

Here's another picture I have taken. The so called gentle and demure girls finally showed their true colours.

I love this picture because my girls were rarely naughty in front of me. I guess the boys will protest saying that they only pretended to be good.

PS: Their behaviour in this picture has nothing to do with their schools... hehehe!

Well, what does 6.1 2007 mean to you?

What does it mean to me?

Too much for a short entry I intend to make for today.

I am very tired and I have tonnes of marking.

Anyway, I seriously think all of you were uniquely good and hardworking...

Cute? Yes... As a class I guess...

Funny? Yes... Okay, I guess I can never forget LJH and the hole in his shirt after it was torn during his "adventure" between the pillars and railings.

Playful? Yes... My "friend" of chipmunks will be top on the list.

Each time I look at these two pictures I will laugh... Why were you kids so nerdy-looking?
